Signs

Even when I was a young girl I looked for signs from above. I can remember picking up a feather and wondering if it fell from an angels wing. I would often bring them home to share with my mom who would immediately force me back outside with my treasured feathers as they could be "carrying lice from a bird". Ha! I would roll my eyes and follow her direction, only to later sneak them in the house to hide in my dresser drawer! At the age of 11 I read the first few chapters of the Bible and was awestruck when I learned the significance of the rainbow. It was a promise that God made to Noah to never again flood the entire earth. So from that point on every time I seen a rainbow (which seemed frequent) I knew God was talking to me, not just Noah. To me it was a reminder of God's presence working in our lives. I was always looking for signs from beyond. I wasn't obsessed with the idea or anything, but I recall "wondering" if this or that was a sign from above.
We are all given signs and messages through out our lives from the spirit world. The key is to be open to this truth so that when the messages are given you are aware of their presence. These signs can come into your life intermittently or repeatedly. They come in all shapes and sizes. To say these communications of guidance or validation only come to believers is untrue. In fact sometimes the skeptics receive more simply to open their narrow mind.
What would constitute a message or sign being offered up? It depends. It is extremely common when a loved one passes away that their spirit will try to connect with you to validate that they are with you. Watching over you. Protecting you. Loving you.
Sometimes their need to confirm this to those left behind is dramatic and obvious. Other times it is subtle. I find that their personality is usually conveyed in the signs they give to us. For instance recently a dear friend of mine passed away quite suddenly and she (Kathy from "Kathy's Healing;in a previous blog) immediately assured me and others she loved that she was at peace and doing fine. Kathy always had trouble with her cell phone. She used to make fun of herself when it came to technology. Needless to say she has been messing with our phones over the last couple of weeks! I can clearly picture her getting some good laughs over her antics. As I have mentioned in previous postings...there is no limits or boundaries on the other side. So after Kathy passed my teen age daughter said that she prayed and told Kathy in her prayers that their "sign" with one another would either be movie tickets or nachos and cheese since they would visit the theater together and eat nachos together every time. I said to my daughter (not considering the no boundaries or limits to the spirit world) how will she ever give you a sign? I said pick something easier for Kathy to get through to you. My daughter rolled her eyes. The next day she comes home from school and informs me (with a huge smile on her face) that while the announcements were read at school that morning she received her sign. She explained that toward the end of the announcements the reader said" Oh and today's lunch schedule has changed from Hamburger on bun to Nachos with cheese". My daughter said she laughed out loud on and off all day long. Kathy let her know...hey kiddo...I heard you ;)
There are also signs and messages that will come at a time when we are at a crossroads in life especially when a big decision is in the works. Sometimes a symbol will arrive when we need validation or confirmation that all will be okay when we've been praying for guidance. I remember last year I was driving down the road praying for a sign that my husband would find a job. Out of nowhere a beautiful bald eagle soared over my van as I was driving over a bridge. I knew in my heart I was being told he would be offered a job soon. The next day he was hired! A non-believer would chalk this up to coincidence. Even those of religious faith would say this might mean nothing, and sorry to say but that sort of thinking is truly putting limits on the power of God and the gifts bestowed upon us in this life with that power. Look around you, keep your ears open. Sometimes a message can come across a billboard. It can arrive through a song on your radio or a commercial on your television. After my mom passed away I took some time off of work. The day I returned a client brought me one red rose (my mom loved roses) and the vase was wrapped in red and purple ribbons. Those 2 colors were my moms favorite. My client had no idea of this prior to her purchase. In fact she didn't even have the idea to purchase the flower until she came into town, got lost and came upon a little store called THE COOP. This store was also my mom's favorite store in town. I believe my mom led her astray and guided her to purchase the rose for me. It was sweet of my client to do this, but I know in my heart it was truly from my mother.
Pay close attention...your sign could come in a many of forms, but the more you validate them the more you will receive and trust me it will make this adventure of life a lot more exciting!
Love and light,
