The Afterlife

It's been awhile, but I'd like to share some truths about the afterlife. This is all information I have picked up through my work as a spirit medium. I receive many questions about the afterlife on a consistent basis. I can't possibly answer them all in this context, but I can touch on a few points of truth. Much of what I share will resonate, but I am sure this information will also cause more questions to arise. We are a curious species that is for sure! Just ask the lady that recently made the decision to climb the wall at a zoo so that she could swim with the polar bears!! *Insert palm to face*
The Afterlife, Heaven, THE OTHER SIDE! Guess what? It's not up there. It's not in the sky. It is everywhere. We often see people point up to the sky when referencing "heaven". Maybe this is because Christians believe that Jesus rose to the heavens, which I am not arguing, but I am saying that he could have shifted sideways and still crossed over into the afterlife. He could have rose up, veered to the left for awhile and then zigzagged a bit until he hit a portal that took him to the other side. In other words there are NO limitations or boundaries placed upon our spirit when we die. On the earth plane, in our human body form we have a plethora of physical limits, but the moment we die and cross over, those limits no longer exist. Magic!
We all go to the afterlife, HOME, the white light, the great beyond. Yep. Every body under heaven (or side of heaven) goes to the hereafter. If you choose of course. #freewill
EVEN THE BAD GUYS?? Yes, even the bad guys. Often the bad guys won't go to the light because they fear persecution on the other side by their idea of God.
Regardless of what you've been taught, no soul is sent to the spiritual realms of a fiery hell. In the nearly 2 decades of doing both one on one readings as well as group sessions, there has never been mention or any recognizable signs of a hell. If it exists I've yet to have it conveyed to me by spirit. The lack of shared stories (by those in spirit) about a "hell" certainly goes against what many religions teach their followers. In my metaphysical opinion, instilled fear is a means of control. The thought of sitting in a fiery pit with a host of demons is pretty damn frightening. The bottom line is that hell is a scary idea which is exactly why it was created and presented in the first place. It has been a tool to control the masses through the use of fear, and you are part of the masses. I am part of the masses. You do not have to be a sheep though, you can be a cow or just be you. Believe what speaks to you, not what you are told to believe. It is really that simple. Right now I'm sharing information with you that allows you to be free from the fear that you will die and then possibly (based on your choices) be sent to some sort of eternal torture! It's not happening yo! Let it go!
If there are various levels of consciousness on the other side among the souls that incarnate into human form, no one has showed me. I am not saying they can't exist, but no spirit has shared this with me. I am referring to the idea of a numbered sequence of levels such as 1, 2, 3, and so on in regards to a hierarchy of soul progression. In soul form we aren't competitive or better than if you will anyone else, we are all source energy made up of light and love. PERIOD.
Reincarnation (Past Lives) is real. We all reincarnate, if we choose. Please notice a trend in the ability to always utilize your free will. Most of us choose to incarnate time and time again with our soul groups and soul family until either we choose to stop for whatever reason or we hit a point where it is no longer necessary. In a sense we can outgrow earthly life, many call this ascension in various spiritual or metaphysical communities.
At the time of physical death our body dies, but not our spirit. You can't kill energy, it will transmute, but never dies. Our spirit is essentially our life force ,our personality, the part of us that makes us unique. So in the afterlife we continue doing and being the things we love. We don't lose ourselves, if anything we become our most authentic selves. This is an important truth to hold on to when considering our loved ones that have gone on before us.  All those broken parts of the self that didn't heal on the earth plane, heal on the other side. We go home to heal.
Colors truly are more vibrant and hard to describe when I am fortunate enough to receive glimpses. You see them in your dreams while you astral travel. If you want to remember these experiences, ask your higher self to show you or if that doesn't make sense to you, ask your spirit guides. Help is always available. Part of the reason we don't remember or hold on to all of this information (and I am sure so much more than I can share) is because we need to live our life here via our soul contract and not focus on our heaven all the time.
Just as in earth life your afterlife is whatever you decide to make it, but there are no limitations or boundaries on the other side so you create your life at a much faster rate there. FYI ..I will immediately(after I leave this glorious earth) be found on a Caribbean type beach with a drink in hand if you ever decide to look for me!
We are always being loved and guided on the other side by our soul family and subsequently we are loving and guiding others as well, both over yonder and on the earth plane. Of course once we are back on the other side (the place of truth and oneness) we don't see the different dimensions as separate. We don't experience separation of any kind. None, zero, zilch.
There is no judgment on the other side. We only judge ourselves. It is not a self-judgment, but more of a review or an assessment. The review is based on how our soul contract played out on earth and all of its intricate details, but there is no guilt attached regardless of the outcomes. We figure out if we completed our tasks, worked out karma, created more karma, broke contract, etc.
Upon arrival and well beyond because we are still living, but without physical form- We visit our loved ones and we work with other guides and angels to help those still living in human form. We need their help, because we aren't nearly as smart as we think we are!!
While In spirit form, We have the best of both worlds. Everything is instantaneous. No limits or boundaries. There is a reason why we have attachments or sometimes even obsessions with super heroes or the idea of them, because in our natural ethereal form we are super heroes. How cool is that?
One of the main ideas to the story of physical life is to ascend to a place within ourselves in which we each realize we are magic, and that we can create our reality right here on earth just as we do on the other side. Despite physical limitations we can create a magical life here. How? Start by falling into your truth and living your truth, whatever that may be. Please know that you came here to love and be loved, it is truly that simple. Once you allow yourself to receive the gift of love, and then spread it around to others in all the ways that love can be shared, you'll recognize a beautiful life. This is the first step to ascension! Grow in to your truth. BE LOVE. Everything else will fall into place, and then someday you'll go home. Trust me, you absolutely love it there. Blessings and Love, Chantal

Connections and Kindness

I could write an entire book about soul connections. It's something I am completely fascinated with, and the subject seems to come up often with various clients during phone and in person sessions. Today I will share some basics about how we all effect one another throughout any given day.
I love this quote from the book Cloud Atlas, by David Mitchell; "Our lives are not our own. We are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future."
There is such truth in this statement. The bottom line is we are all connected. Every choice we make not only defines our own personal future, but also those people (and animals) we come in contact with throughout the days, months, and years of our life. Most of us don't consider how an act so minor (opening the door for a stranger) can later cause a positive ripple effect, moving kindness and love throughout the universe, ultimately touching the lives of people you will never physically meet on the earth plane. Or will you? Or have you? (That is a whole other ball of wax in the soul connections department).
Every day we have choices to make. The options are endless. You might think, well no, the options aren't endless. I am bound to get up out of bed, take a shower, go to work, come home, cook dinner, and get after the kids to finish homework and clean their room, walk the dog, etc. This is routine yes, but realistically you do have the choice whether to get out of bed and do all of those tasks. We tend to think small when caught up in the day to day. Let's think outside of the box momentarily. Let's say you don't do any of those daily ritualistic actions. Instead you decide to lay in bed lazily all day (my favorite winter pastime), reading a good book or watching television. Not only is your routine off kilter, but you've removed yourself from certain interactions with the hundreds of people (if not more) that you unknowingly touch with your life every single day. Maybe the guy you cut off in traffic yesterday on the way to work learned a bit about patience and slowed down, later avoiding a car accident. Maybe the postman that delivered your office mail needed to see your smile, because his day wasn't going so well, and what he needed was a pick me up, which in turn helped him to be in a better mood as he returned home to his family that evening, hence no family arguing. Possibly the lady with only one item in her basket at the grocery store that you let check out in front of you made it to work on time, and luckily she kept her job that has been on the line due to recent tardiness, because her husband is at home dying from a terminal disease, while she juggles his illness and work just to keep medical insurance. You get the picture. Every day in countless ways we touch so many lives in little instances that make all the difference in the world, especially to some people, and more often than not you will never know your good deeds and their final effects. I'm just trying to paint a picture of how all of humanity is truly affected by each soul embodying a physical being, A.K.A. YOU.
***You're a soul living inside a body, connected to all that is, all that ever was, and all that will ever be.***
(Let that sink in for a moment, re-read the above sentence, comprehend the significance of that truth).
In the spirit of being thankful as we celebrate the giving season, pay it forward. PAY IT FORWARD. Be conscious of doing something kind and compassionate ON PURPOSE for another, and as you do so, don't expect anything in return (don't worry the universe will eventually reward your kindness), live in the absolute knowing that you're creating positive loving energy in the the universe, love grows into light, and light always outshines the darkness. We are all connected.... now and eternally. Blessings always, Chantal
PS...Who you gonna light up? :)

Am I on the "right" path?

I talk to many people throughout the United States and beyond on a daily basis. I admit, regardless of why we are speaking (psychic-medium reading, grief healing, life coaching) the one question that never fails to arise is, "Am I on the right path for my life" or, "How do I know if I am currently on the right path"? This line of questioning, even after hearing it countless times, always has the tendency to remind me just how pivotal my life work is, and how my answers guide the choices of those I work with, to me this is a big responsibility as well as humbling. Who am I to say or decide if one is actually on their right path? I've realized through getting to know so many people from every walk of life throughout the years, that the answer is always YES. Easy, right? No, it isn't easy, but yes, in a nutshell you are on the right path.
Even if you are needing to make changes to your current course, you're always exactly where you need to be at any given moment. This truth goes back to divine order (see earlier post, Divine Order for a better understanding) and synchronicity. If you weren't where you are at this exact time and place, wondering which way to go so to speak, you simply won't end up where you are going next, to ultimately make a difference in your own life, those you love, and even further out into the universe via the ripple effect, touching millions of people all over the world. Right now, you are reading this, and this is part of your journey onto the next move you make in your life. Every moment is right on time, exactly on schedule.
BUT.....(yes of course there had to be a but) you will teeter in life. If you are presently questioning or wondering if you're on point in life, walking in the best direction, it's a perfect time to re-evaluate your current life situations which can include (but not limited to) career, relationships, locale of residence, hobbies, etc.
If you are in query, and your immediate gut feeling is one of inner peace and harmony, then ask no more, just keep doing exactly what you're doing. Keep plucking along!
If you're sensing that something is just a little bit off in your world or there is a lack of joy in some area of your life, it doesn't necessarily mean your off path, it just means you need some minor tweaking. It's obviously time to change some things up a bit! By switching things up in your life you will more than likely feel more at peace with your journey. Your job (if you choose) is to figure out where your feeling joyless, bored, uneasy (if that is the case) and make the needed changes for yourself and the highest good of all.
Example...one most can relate with at some point in their life.
Let's say it's a current friendship that has become an issue. The friendship has always been fun and fulfilling, but lately it feels somewhat negative and draining. You may fear losing the friendship for various reasons, but if this is the case (negative and draining), it would probably be best for you to take a step back, re-fuel your depleted energy by partaking in friendships that feel more healthy and balanced. Sometimes we need to stretch and grow, and unfortunately that means growing apart from a friend for awhile (especially when there is conflicting energy), and sometimes indefinitely. Is this easy? No. It is it sometimes necessary? Yes. A conflict such as this is enough to make you feel like your life is off kilter. You have the power to put balance back into your life.
If you already know you aren't happy or feeling fulfilled in a tremendous way, first figure out what that means for you and then find a solution. There is ALWAYS solution, which means no excuses, and I mean an excuse along the lines of...
"I will never be happy, because I don't have enough money". Why don't you have enough money? There is always a solution, it may not be immediate, but you can makes plans and set goals to attain the money it is that you need or desire. The universe is always teaching us lessons (if we are willing to learn) and listening to our needs. Put it out there! The universe will conspire to help you in any way you desire. If you aren't content with your job, then get a new job. It's interesting how often I hear "I can't find a new job, no one is hiring". I then ask, have you been actively looking and applying, and often the answer is NO. Often fear of change is at the core of not actually seeking out new employment, or it's the fear of rejection which can plague heavily on the mind as well.
Go back to school, or use the degree that you threw in the file cabinet. Immediately I can hear the excuses or reasoning as to why you can't leave your job, go to school, use the degree, but I am telling you, yes you can (I've done it and so have countless others) and if you really are tired of being discontent in whatever area of life you are feeling some lack (often it is career), then you will find a way, you will find a solution to better YOUR life path.
Often we will feel out of balance when we aren't following through to living out our bliss, passion, or deepest desires. If you don't know what those are exactly, it's time to delve into yourself and find out. The answers are within, they are always available to you, but you need to put time and effort into seeking those truths. Once you figure out what they are, take the actions needed to bring them to fruition. There is always a way, and no it won't be over night, and yes much of the time it will take effort on your part, but you can make it happen.
The bottom line is that during the course of this beautiful (blood, sweat, and tears included) human journey, you are always on the right path, there is no wrong. We can only learn and grow from all of the obstacles, unhealthy choices, mistakes, sickness, etc.
Now it's time to decide what is next for you! Unless of course you are feeling fantastic about where you are in life, then KUDOS to you, (don't worry your time will come at some point along the way for some re-evaluation and change of course), but for the rest of us that need a change up, get on it! Your chariot awaits!
Blessings always,
Chantal

Imaginary friends..

I've recently been asked at what age I actually figured out that I was gifted with the ability of communicating with the spirit world as well as being psychic. I'm not sure exactly, because it wasn't always constant or even consistent throughout childhood, and the connections happened at various-random times in my life. I can confidently say that having these gifts do go as far back as the age of 4, but this doesn't mean I wasn't experiencing it sooner, I simply can't recall much before that age in general. I believe the gift of clairvoyance and spirit communication have always been part of me. My spiritual gifts and healing abilities have served both myself and others at various times along this amazing journey (of 37 years) by being able to connect the earth plane (human-home) and the other side (soul-home) by basically bridging the two worlds to bring about healing, while simultaneously bringing forward the truth that death doesn't exist (we survive our body) to those that are seeking such information and validation. I honestly wish I would have listened to my mom and my dear friend Kathy when they constantly advised me to journal all my experiences. Unfortunately I can't remember every person I speak with, but there are many stories that have stood out over the years.
I really want to talk about having the ability to communicate with the afterlife as a child. Many little ones, an insurmountable number of babies-children are coming into the world right now with the gift of sight. If you are the parent/caregiver/grand-parent/teacher, etc. to one of these special little souls, please encourage he or she to stay open and to not be afraid of their gifts. Make them feel that it is safe to speak about their experiences during both waking hours and the night-time. Educate yourself on how to help them cope and also grow so that their gifts will bring healing to the world. Your support is crucial to their growth. There are many ways that a child can exhibit their abilities, but a tell-tale sign is...imaginary friends. In my experience and in my opinion (from talking with other people of all ages) there is no such thing as an imaginary friend. These are spirits or spirit friends for that matter. I haven't met anyone that was afraid of their imaginary friend! I believe when we are young and innocent we tend to not have the ability to judge or be skeptical, which means we are still very god-like or still close to our soul- home, (earthly fears/ego hasn't set in yet) and our perfect soul knows the truth....death doesn't exist. We are spirit first, body second, and we return to spirit. It all comes full circle. If you have a little one in your life that is proving to have the ability to bridge this world with the next, then you have a very special person in your life, and he or she is here to help awaken the masses of people that are still sleeping. Wake up ya all (as my southern friends would say) because a new world is emerging and these babies (age 0-18) are bringing the truth, be ready, be open, and be excited!
Blessings always,
Chantal

Q & A Part 1

A recent reader asked me the following question.
"I have always meant to ask you, do our passed one's communicate to you with images, or words? How do you differentiate the information"?  -Anonymous-
The answer is yes, I receive images and words. I have the ability to see vivid images in various ways, but also hear words, music, noise, detect scents and almost always feel what a spirit is trying to convey to me, to then pass on to whomever is receiving the messages. Right now, I will focus on seeing; a.k.a. clairvoyance.
Explaining this process in a way to help others understand the process of spirit communication is actually more difficult (for me personally), than the overall act of communicating with the other side. It's second nature for me, so it would be like asking someone with perfect eyesight, to explain candidly to a blind person, the vivid spectrum of colors in the world. How do you portray purple or yellow to someone that has never seen either of those colors?
I'll do my best to illustrate how receiving images from loved ones (that have crossed over) works for me. * This doesn't mean that other spirit mediums receive their information the same, I am only speaking for myself*
Clairvoyance (images) can probably be best compared to day-dreaming. During a daydream your eyes might be wide open, but you aren't necessarily looking at what is directly in front of you, instead you're visualizing images of your current life, how to change it, make it better, imagining something you might want to purchase, plotting a destination for travel and adventure, etc.
You're literally envisioning situations through imagery, often without realizing that you are doing so until you're startled, and then go about business as usual.
During a session if a spirit is choosing to use imagery with me, the messages come across similar to snapshots taken with a camera, and it happens at an extremely fast rate, as if my brain has clicked over to shutter mode. It isn't unusual for other images to back up a picture of what I am seeing. For instance, if I am being shown a necklace with a cross, it could mean that I simply need to mention a necklace with a cross, but if immediately behind that image is a jewelry box, and then immediately I see a set of earrings, this would more than likely mean that I am supposed to be mentioning multiple pieces of jewelry.  If this is the case, I'll mention in detail what the jewelry looks like along with the jewelry box. If I had only seen the necklace, and the picture of it continued looming in the air (so to speak), then I know for certain that it's crucial for me to validate this particular item.
If a spirit wants me to see the way their physical body died, or how they looked in appearance at a certain age, these images come in extremely quick flashes, and often repeat over and over until the person receiving the messages validates what I pass on to them from what I am being shown.
Take your TV remote control and scroll through all your channels one after another as fast as possible. This is how I see things most of the time, but other times, a vision will linger, which again often means I'd better mention what I am seeing! All of the pictures I am given from beyond are important, but its up to me to put the puzzle together and I honestly don't know how to explain how this is done is exact detail.
I am not sure about other mediums, but for me, I typically allow the spirit to choose our communication style. If he or she chooses to use pictures/images then I work with that energy. Everyone is unique in character and personality, so not every person/spirit will communicate exactly the same. Most sessions are a mixed bag, meaning I'll receive messages through forms of seeing, hearing, feeling, and sometimes an overall knowing. I can't always explain how I know what I know. Everything going on inside my brain while I'm giving a reading, is happening at a "fast forward" pace. I manage (with the help of my own spirit guides) to put the puzzle pieces where they belong (most of the time anyway). I always say, they (on the other side) know exactly what they're conveying to me, I don't always interpret it correctly.
Blessings,
Chantal

2012...Is It The End Of The World?

The # 1 question that I've been asked for the last couple of years is whether the world will end in 2012. I don't think so. I say that with a little of sarcasm and a roll of my eyes. Why? Because all the media and hoopla over the world coming to an end is exhausting.
In all honesty, I don't know if the world will ever actually cease to exist, but I guess it could possibly end tomorrow. Anything is possible, correct?
I do believe that 2012 is a time for new beginnings in all of our lives ( meaning the entire human race) which includes a major consciousness shift amongst all. This transformation has been coming to light for quite some time, but I've personally noticed this huge shift in the last few years.
Ten years ago, I was embarrassed to talk about the abilities and gifts I possess, so naturally I kept it under wraps most of the time. I simply didn't want to explain nor defend myself to people with different beliefs, judgments, or criticisms. I was most definitely in fear of negative reactions, but also I found that the trying to explain what a medium does in two minutes or less, on the sidelines of a sporting event for my children, was quite difficult.
Now (due to various television shows, books, movies, documentaries, songs, social networking, etc.), all I say to those whom ask is, "I'm a medium". Most responses are positive and it isn't necessary to explain myself, because awareness has been created through an immense global shift in human consciousness. In other words, people are beginning to think more openly, and finding that spirituality doesn't need to be tied to religion. For many years, I would hear people say, "Well, I am not spiritual, because I don't affiliate with any religion". In the last few years, I am receiving comments such as " I am spiritual, but not religious". Somewhere along the way, in recent years, many individuals have come to a realization that spirituality can be experienced without being religious to any certain belief system. I'm not dissing any religion (as I respect them all), only making a point that there has been a massive change in overall thinking on a global level. 2012 won't be the end of times in the way it's being advertised (in my opinion), but the end of a human cycle of people-pleasing conformity, and the beginning of a new awareness beyond our current understanding.
If for some reason you believe that the world is going to end in 4 months or so, then I hope with all my heart that you're living life to the absolute fullest, checking off your bucket list one dandy day at a time, and most importantly loving and validating the people that mean the most to you. Share a few more smiles with the world! But shouldn't we all, regardless of our beliefs, being doing that anyway? I'd say yes to that one, with no sarcasm or roll of the eyes.
Happy Trails! :)

Off The Grid...

I'm back, and have a lot of information to share! For those of you that have asked if I would ever update my blog again, the answer is happening before your eyes.
I've been busy with work, school (almost finished...yay!), kids, traveling for work purposes. etc.
None of those reasons are excuses to be off the grid, but life is all about priorities, and unfortunately writing for the sheer enjoyment of sharing with others wasn't one of them. I am re-prioritizing my time and energy, and one of those priorities is writing. I've been working on time management, limits, and boundaries too.
For my current followers, I'll be updating at least once a week by sharing stories about readings, and many other subjects that have crossed my path (sometimes literally ;) in the last couple of years. I'll touch on subjects related to the amazing gift of mediumship that allows for an avenue of healing to enter into the lives of those that are sent my way in divine order, via word of mouth (unless they stumble upon my little blog).
PLEASE feel free to ask questions that you want answers to in regards to communication with the afterlife, spirituality, paranormal, etc., and I will answer them if I am able. As always, I will keep your name anonymous, unless of course you choose otherwise.
If you are newbie to this blog, please check out the archives. You might find something there that will speak directly to you.
Blessings always,
Chantal

Closure

When I have time on my hands which isn't often, I love to take photographs of the great outdoors. Above is a picture I took along the Scenic Byway of The Huron National Forest here in Michigan. It was taken at Iargo Springs. To even get to this place one must walk hundreds of steps down a steep incline. The waters at Iargo Springs were dubbed "healing waters" by the Native American tribes of that area long ago. Many people flock here to take in the good energy this water has to offer with the hopes of receiving some sort of healing. At the time I visited Iargo my own grief was still quite overwhelming from losing my mother to cancer. You would think as a medium that I could just sit around every day and receive communication or messages from her, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way. I let these rushing waters run through my fingers with my eyes squeezed closed, and begged please heal me waters, and take this pain away from me. Give me closure. I just need some sort of closure! I have to admit that the whole experience was wonderful and I did feel a little lighter as I gave my pain over to the healing waters to be carried away from me. BUT it didn't last. I continued to have this overwhelming sense of needing something more to close up the gaping wounds. What did that mean though? I was with her in the last days and moments of her life. I said everything I needed or wanted to say to her which is more than most people get when they lose a loved one. It took many months for me to get a handle on it, but I figured it out. I needed validation from her. I wanted to know she was proud of me, and approved of my choices in my life both past and present. It seemed silly, but it all came down to this constant pang of guilt in choices made or not made in regards to her health care. Did I do enough? Should I have encouraged other courses of treatment? The list of questions went on and on. I knew deep down she was okay and at peace. I had connected with her enough to know she crossed into the light and was with family and friends on the other side. But as her child I was still looking for her validation and approval just as any child does whether they are 2 yrs old or 40 yrs old. We need to know our parents approve of us. Keep in mind, I was 31 when she passed away. So, recently I came in contact with a close friend from my past. We will call him "Martin". Martin lost his father suddenly when he was a young boy of around age 7 or 8. I'm sure over the years he has asked those that actually knew his dad plenty of questions about his father and received many answers as well about his father's hobbies, his friends, personality, likes and dislikes, etc.
Over the years he has led a pretty decent life. Good family, and good friends. A boy eventually became a man without his father's physical presence in his life. In our younger years I always knew that Martin missed his father terribly. It wasn't really a subject talked about too often, but as an empath (feeler) I could sense his pain even in the mundane moments. A certain sort of emptiness in his eyes that always managed to tug at my heartstrings. It was clear that Martin's hobbies and interests followed in his father's footsteps so there was this part of Martin that was always keeping his deceased father alive. Now you might be wondering why I didn't just give him a reading and make it all better. Well I sort of tried, but he wasn't open to it at that time. Looking back though I realize I wouldn't have been able to give him the sort of reading he needed and deserved because my gifts as a medium weren't nurtured by an means at that time. Recently I was blessed with the opportunity to do a reading for him. Its been 30 yrs since he lost his father. After the session was done I had an ah-ha moment. Martin was needing the same kind of closure I had needed from my mom, only he has been wanting that validation most of his life! During the session Martin didn't lead me in any direction. Meaning he didn't say things like "So does my dad like my new truck"? Or "Does he like that I named my child after him"? He let me do most of the talking (which is always best and most validating for the sitter and for the medium) except for one thing every now and then he would ask, "Does he have anything to say to me"? I was thinking, yeah he has just spent the last hour saying tons of things to you! But...it was the confirmation that his father approved of his life choices, his successes, and even his failures. I do feel Martin received those answers from his dad, and I do believe it brought him some healing. Of course nothing is like hearing it in the flesh, but this is the next best thing. At least until they meet again on the other side. The even bigger ah-ha moment for me was that in putting all this together I understand FINALLY what closure is really all about. It isn't at all about tying up loose ends. It certainly isn't about saying goodbye one last time as we have led ourselves to believe. It is about receiving validation and approval from the person who is no longer in your life. Think about it! Stop for a moment and think through those people you've been needing closure with for so long. This doesn't even necessarily relate to someone that has physically died. Maybe you've had a friendship that ended badly, or a love relationship that fell apart and you've went your separate ways. Whom ever you are longing for some "closure" with, you are looking for their approval! So swish that one around in your brain, and then decide who is truly worthy of a closure moment with YOU. It's completely normal for a child that has lost a parent such as Martin to look for the kind of answers he has been questioning for so long, but does it truly matter what your ex friend, lover, boss, etc thinks of you? No. Look within for your closure. You only need to spend that energy on love and approval of yourself and once you master that gift of inner peace, then the idea of tying up those loose ends with the past won't seem so important anymore.
Peace to you :)

Happy Holidays!

Go ahead and turn on the television or open up to your favorite browser and you'll find anything and everything that relates to the holidays right now. Food, gifts, vacations, and decorating ideas, but you won't find much advertisement on how to handle good ol holiday grief! I'm speaking of the kind of grief one experiences in connection to deeply missing someone that has passed into the afterlife. The holidays are a tough time when you've endured such a loss. Even if many years have gone by, the holiday season can be extremely tough on the family and friends that were left behind. I believe the reason this time of year pulls on one's heart strings a bit more than the ordinary times is that this is the time of year when we come together with family and friends, and suddenly the absence of that someone special becomes much more noticeable. It's definitely more difficult during the holidays to try and move beyond the hurt that your significant other, child, mother, father, grandparent, sister, brother, etc. inevitably left you with upon their departure from this world. You quietly take notice as to who isn't sitting at the dinner table with everyone else that is laughing, eating, drinking and having a dandy time. Suddenly the wound that has been bandaged up becomes exposed. Something I would like to share with you is that togetherness draws our loved ones from the other side into our energy as we commune with our family and friends! The sad thing is we often pretend that we aren't hurting, or that we aren't missing that special person. Often grief is treated like a virus, no one wants to catch it so we don't go around spreading our hurt amongst others. We are socially guided to put on the happy face and be jolly. But you know what? Your loved one(s) deserve to be honored. Just as you deserve to feel comfortable in mentioning their absence. You should reminisce about them because they are still alive, just in another form beyond our true understanding. How would you like to go to a family function and be ignored? I am not saying you should give them their own seat at the table with a place setting!! There are healthy ways to bring them into the holiday celebration, and honor the love you shared in this lifetime. Photo: TogetherIt's about keeping the memories alive, and allowing healing to take place for the living. I'd like to share some ideas that can be added into any holiday celebration easily and can really help a grieving family cope during this time of year.
WAYS YOU CAN HONOR AND REMEMBER DEPARTED LOVED ONES

  1. Sit around a table or simply get in a circle with friends and family. Have someone start with either (their choice) I remember when so and so......OR the thing I miss most about so and so.......OR....My favorite holiday memory with so and so....(work clockwise)
  2. Put out a magnetic picture board or felt board and ask everyone ahead of time to bring a picture to share, and then talk about the time in the photo and share those memories!
  3. Give each person present a candle. Moving clockwise around the room, and have each person light a candle in honor/memory of the deceased. After lighting the candle say something like I was grateful to know so and so, or My favorite memory of so and so is...you get the point. At the end of the candle lighting have someone say a prayer for the people present wishing everyone good health, happiness, love, etc.
  4. We like to honor my mom by doing a shot of Bailey's because that was her favorite holiday drink. A toast is always a nice way to commemorate someone that has passed on.
  5. If your family likes to dance, play their favorite music. Dance and be merry!
  6. Have everyone bring a dish of his or her favorite food or be creative and come up with your own idea based around your own family traditions.

The point of all this is to make this person(s) a part of your celebration and remove the so called "elephant" in the room. This helps everyone become comfortable with talking about the individual that is not on the earth plane any longer. Sometimes people don't feel it is "ok" to bring them up because it might cause pain. Trust me, you will all be laughing and crying but it will be a great time!
You wouldn't believe the healing that can come from such simple exercises like the ones above.
Blessings and love,
Chantal

Divine Intervention

I am so blessed to have been connected with so many amazing individuals through my life work. Every day I get to take part in the lives of people from all over the world, and although each person is unique and living lives specific to their life missions it is clear they all have a couple things in common. The obvious is they all have experienced death, having lost someone they hold close to their heart, and the other is that divine intervention has happened in their life in some way. Some call it luck, others call it coincidence, but most just call them blessings and miracles. For instance, How did *Amy* walk away from a car accident with just a few bumps and bruises, but her three friends in the vehicle all perished? How could it be that an entire family passes in a house fire except for their two year old toddler? Why did a close friend of mine suddenly choose not to go on her business trip at the last minute, to later find out the plane crashed and there were no survivors? Recently a very dear friend of mine was in a terrible boating accident with his mother. She passed instantly, and there is literally no logical reason with the injuries he sustained that he should be alive, and at the least he should be (logically speaking) paralyzed. He is alive and well and suffered no paralyzing effects on his body. Another important factor to this story is there were supposed to be two other individuals from his family in this boat. At the last minute they decided to not take the annual family fishing trip. If they had gone on the trip the chance that they would have survived the accident is very low. There is no explanation for these happenings in my opinion other than the simple fact that these lives as mentioned were spared for some higher purpose. These are all miraculous experiences that shouldn't be ignored. The question is why do some people die and others make it out alive in such situations? The easiest answer is that it was time for the souls that lost their life to return home to Creator for a higher purpose beyond our understanding. Those that were granted more time on the earth plane were given another chance at life to fulfill a greater purpose. Often events like this cause the spared individual to experience a sense of guilt for still being here when they feel they should have died too. It's an inner feeling of cheating death. (a.k.a. Survivor's guilt) The fact of the matter is what we see as cheating death is truly just divine intervention on behalf of the individual whose life was spared. This life has more living to do. At the same time the lives that were taken from us were meant to cross over or they wouldn't have, and that is a truth that is often hard to swallow for many people, including myself. We don't always get the answers to why things happen the way they do, but in time we notice there is always a higher purpose involved. It may take years to come to this conclusion, but as events unfold the answers will be revealed. It seems that miracles often give those that have experienced such an extraordinary ordeal an opportunity to really take some personal inventory. I feel very strongly that miracles are supposed to be wake up calls. Am I fulfilling my life purpose? Why am I here? What is my gift, and am I using all my potential to make a difference in the world in some way? Since each of cause some sort of ripple effect with our actions each and every day, just imagine if we were all in alignment with higher self/highest good. None of us are here by chance. We are all living aspects of Creators love. We are gifts to the universe and when we are no longer needed on the earth plane we return to the other side. Since you are here and especially if you have been chosen specially via divine intervention then it is time (if you haven't already started) to dig down deep within yourself to bring out the gifts you have to share with your family, friends, community and beyond. Even if you haven't had a light bulb moment from the universe these are questions that you could ask your self too. If you choose not to then maybe it will take some divine intervention to get you on track ;) So start digging deep, and make the choice live your best life. Don't just make ripples...make some waves!
Blessings,
Chantal

Crossroads

Often I speak with individuals that are at a place in their life where they feel lost or directionless. Maybe their job is boring and not fulfilling or they've been laid off from a job with little or no future career prospects due to the economy or a lack of education. It's also common for people to cross my path that simply feel a need to pick up and physically move to another state or country in search of something they can't quite place their finger on, but know they need to go. I call it getting "itchy" for something new. The soul is an amazing energy that lives within each one of us, and it is constantly plugged into Creator, or all that is. Prior to our incarnation into this lifetime our soul creates a life map. We choose ahead of time which souls we will encounter along our life journey. Our soul chooses the whens, hows, and whys to most all major events and relationships. The kicker is that once you are born into body form you forget all those predestined plans and get to live what we call life. Add in some free will and it sort of becomes a big free for all. But in essence it isn't, because the universal soul within is always trying to guide us to our highest good so that we can learn all the lessons needed to achieve some sort of bliss in this physical life. It's our own ego (fearful human side) that often tries going against the grain by feeding into doubt. The term "go with the flow" should be the mantra we all live by. It's when we get caught up in fear and negative thinking that we lose our way. It is better to get the hell out of the way and let your inner self guide you to the next fork in the road, and allow it to show you which way to go that which will be in your highest good as well as the universe. So how do we do that? If you lose your job and you know unemployment will only last so long it isn't easy to just float along the lazy river of life. Well, at least society wants you to believe that to be true. The fact is you lost your job, home, marriage, friendship or just your way in general because your soul map is taking you in another direction leading you to your next adventure. Guess what? You're never really lost. You just feel that way, because sudden change is scary and the unknown is too. For some this is easier to handle simply because they have faith that everything will turn out okay. For others they go into an instant tailspin and call me at 1am because they can't breathe from the anxiety they are feeling. Calm down. You are exactly where you are supposed to be. If you have been backed into a corner by the universe (so to speak) it is telling you it is time for a new take on life. There is opportunity all around you. But what is your soul telling you? For instance, If you've been driving a truck all of your life and all you know is the road and the radio, but deep down you've always wanted to be a massage therapist but never had time to pursue this avenue, but over time it sort of gnaws at you. That gnawing sense is your soul telling you it is your gift, to heal others. But NOooooo you just continue driving down the highway day after day, and collecting your paycheck week after boring week. Then suddenly there is no work for you. You got the pink slip without a moment's notice. Now what? Either no one is hiring or your interviews don't pan out. This is what being backed into the corner is all about, and its time to go within and ask yourself, "What now"? Hey buddy, your soul gave you a chance to make the move into studying massage. The ideas were there, the thoughts persistent. You can only fight destiny so long, and then BAM! So follow through with your dreams. Its that easy, right? Yes. Our soul doesn't ever set us up for failure. You look around yourself and think, but. ..but...but....if...if....on and on with the excuses. If you will sit back for a minute and say to the universe/Creator, I get it now, please show me the way. The next thing you know opportunities and people that are in alignment with your new life path will be showing up on your doorstep. (that would be the part where you trust and go with the flow) Life is about change and growth. Every single day we can learn new ways, thoughts, ideas, etc. This is not a place (earth) that is meant to be stagnant. Just take nature for example. The trees change every 4 months give or take. Right now mine are in full golds, reds, and oranges galore. Soon they will be leafless. Then they will bud out and bring me green leaves to adore in my woods for the summer. You aren't meant to have the same exact job or know only one certain group of people, or love only one individual your whole life. You aren't meant to love only one color or like only one food. Life is about evolving and growing into our best self, and to utilize and SHARE the gifts that each of us uniquely possess via Creator. Don't look back, and think you wasted your time on this or that. You were supposed to do this and that to get you to where you are today. Right now in this moment you are where you are supposed to be, and if your life has taken on sudden changes it is all part of your overall life plan. You are in transition, its time to embrace it so you can ENJOY the ride to the next destination. Just don't get to comfortable, its a big world out there, but thankfully you have a map. Just look within and you will see where it is leading you next ;)

Yearning

One question that I am asked on a regular basis is whether or not our loved ones that have crossed over miss us. Do they long for our hugs and kisses? Do they miss our touch, laughter, love, and friendship? The answer is yes. Of course they do! Although it isn't nearly as intense as our longing for them. There are various reasons why their intensity isn't on the same scale. First of all they have the best of both worlds. Eternal life is endless, and has no limitation. Our loved ones in spirit have the opportunity (if they so choose) to cuddle up next to you when your watching the newest episode of Grey's Anatomy or stand near you as you're cooking up a batch of Granny's fried chicken. They are able to still interact with you on some level. You on the other hand do not have the best of both worlds on a constant basis. Sure on occasion the average person will have dream visits with those in the beyond which is an amazing blessing. If you are fortunate enough to be open to your loved ones signs and symbols of life beyond death then you are aware of their occasional presence. I say occasional because our family and friends on the other side don't stalk us. Think about it. Were they constantly around you at all times when they were living in body form? No. There has to be balance in all areas of life and this includes the spirit world. Their life continues and moves forward in heaven as your life does here on earth. Another reason they don't yearn for us in the same way is that they are aware that physicality is just a small part of our life cycle. We are spirit first, body second, and return to spirit. A perfect circle of life. They don't desire touch the way we do, because they are no longer in physical form. They will still embrace us and touch us, but this is for our benefit more than their own. Since we are in solid form and experience life through our senses, they utilize them to awaken us to their presence. Another reason they don't miss us in the same way is because they are extremely aware that you will reunite when it is time for you to leave this world. You might believe this as truth too, but because humans have ego (the part of us that allows in doubt and fears) it is easy to question life beyond death. This leaves us with such a strong yearning for the people that have ultimately left us behind. In essence we haven't been left behind at all. We are essentially still completing our human life missions and living our purpose through Creator. Just as those that have moved into the spirit world are now living out whatever mission and purpose is set out before them. Our loved ones look forward to the day of reunification, and so should you! It is expected and normal to have a deep need to touch your mom's hand, hear your father's laughter, hug your sister, or cuddle your child that has passed on. As you experience those feelings your loved ones in heaven are in tune with your emotions (as their are no limitations of time and space for them) and they almost always respond to you with love.

Chantal

Going Within

Regardless of who you are if you've ever experienced a one hour session with me then you know I don't allow any questions until the end of the session. The main reason I keep this rule of thumb is simply because I don't want the "sitter" leading me in any certain direction. I want to take you on a journey (with spirit) of realization and validation. Usually by the time we reach the end of the session most of the questions have already been answered. The reason for this is because your family and friends in spirit know exactly what is on your mind and in your heart. As I've mentioned before they (spirit) always have the best of both worlds which is why they know so dang much!! :) I go into a reading with an open mind and heart every time as I know each person I speak with is unique as is their life circumstances. The only similarity that I do come across often is self doubt, and a deep need to KNOW the exact way something will play out. This doesn't mean that every one I speak with is in need of answers for what is coming up in life, as many people just need the confirmation that their loved ones are alive and well in spirit and that they're still in some way connected to their life. I call these visit sessions. It's like going to a family reunion! In all sessions the sitter will connect with loved ones, but often they are being given guidance for their life path. Spirit often shows me the fork in the road. If you go this way then this will occur and if you go the other way then this will happen. (of course they always heavily validate the current course so that we know we're on the right track ;)
Many years ago I was told by a mentor to be careful in not leading or misleading someone in any direction, that they need to take the information spirit shares and make their own conclusions and more importantly decisions. This is hard to do sometimes as many people want to hear whatever they WANT to hear. It is also hard for a lot of people to swallow the truth,BUT as a go between for this world and the next it is my job to pass on the messages with complete honesty, clarity, and compassion. At the same time I have to be careful to not interfere. (yes, its like walking a tight rope some days!) There are many many times Monday thru Friday that I want to yell through the phone, "Stop what you are doing and do exactly as I say and everything will be peachy again". Unfortunately no one really learns anything if they are told how to think and how to act. So I give them the fork in the road and my favorite follow up question is....Well, which road am I going to take? hahahaha. Of course I am truthful with what I am shown, but the gift in all of it is you get to choose via the gift of free will! I am constantly receiving emails and calls with phrases like I should of listened and not taken that path, or you were right on and everything you told me came to pass. I don't believe in shoulda coulda or woulda. (throw em all out the window..please :) The bottom line is we learn from all of our experiences and sometimes we need to fall on our faces a few times before we find our balance in life. The biggest gift you can give yourself when you are faced with decisions is to go within. You have an inner voice. You actually listen to it all the time without realizing it. It is the part of you that says "make that dr. appt., turn right instead of left, don't eat that, call your mom, visit your neighbor, etc.
If something doesn't feel right then it probably isn't right. Your inner spirit is your own personal compass. Check in with yourself at least once a day. You don't have to meditate like the Tibetans in order to get the answers you desire. Releasing self doubt and touching in with your divine self will lead you to the answers you seek. If you build a relationship with your authentic self then the guidance you seek is always at hand. I remember one time I was traveling to do a house party about 8 yrs ago, and I suddenly felt the need to turn around and go home. I tried to brush it off, but the feeling got stronger the further I went down the highway. Finally I turned the car around and went home. I wasn't happy about this at all. I didn't want to let the hostess down, and it was like taking a week off with no pay. How could I tell people to follow their gut instinct and completely ignore my own? Needless to say the next morning I found out that a semi crashed which caused a major car pile up on the highway that I was on that day, and the timing would have put me in the middle of the accident!
Make it a point to connect with your inner self. Go within. The answers you seek are available to you, and if you don't get the answer then you apparently weren't meant to know.

Taboo

If you've ever experienced losing someone you love then you are aware of the grief that follows. Unfortunately in many instances families and close friends fall into a pattern of not bringing up the individual that has passed on, especially to the person/people that were most affected by the death. This seems to be an automatic defense mechanism to prevent any further emotional stress. If we don't talk about the elephant in the room then the elephant doesn't exist. Unfortunately this couldn't be further from the truth. This doesn't happen because we have forgotten or stopped grieving. It happens because their is such a fear that by talking about the person that crossed over we will or those we love will be sent back into the throws of raw grief. Sadly we as humans are often not comfortable with another person's pain. We don't know what to do with it. If you lost your child, and mine is alive and well, how can I help you? I obviously can't bring your child back. If I talk to you about your child then you will probably cry and break down in a way that I can't fix or make better, which will then lead to me feeling guilty for hurting you. We are programed to fix, fix, fix! Regrettably no one has ever figured out how to heal another man's emotional heartbreak, and because of this we push that pain right under the rug. Again we do this as a way of protection and love for those grieving. Sadly we are causing more damage by making the deceased a taboo subject. It is crucial for the grieving to feel safe enough to reach out and express their feelings. At times the conversation may be related to the actual death, but mostly they want to reminisce. Such as, do you remember how beautiful mom's flowers were? Or, Didn't my dad have the most infectious laugh? The people left behind need to know and feel their loved one won't be forgotten. Often an individual in grief has a deep fear that their loved one has moved on so far away from them that their spiritual/emotional connection will be severed. If the supporting people around them don't make it comfortable for any type of expression ( including anger, bargaining, depression, etc.) then their fear is being fed. We can't band aid the pain, but we can listen with a compassionate heart. We can safely bring up the individual that crossed over in our conversations. I know for me personally when my mom passed from cancer, I found it to be extremely healing to be able to bring her up without people acting uncomfortable. If a person in grief is forced into a corner to deal with the hurt on their own then their grief process will take much longer to move through. This doesn't mean that we should obsess over their mention, but find a happy medium. The next time you are in a place of support for someone in grief don't allow the elephant through the front door. The only guests should be sympathy, empathy, love, and compassion. :)

Chantal

Everyday Miracles

As a spirit medium I have the ability to connect the spirit world to the physical world which ultimately allows me to bridge the gap between you and your loved ones that have passed from this world. Like anyone who does their job in this world it can become monotonous at times, but the every day miracles are what keep me coming back for more! Each person I speak with is unique in their own way and every session is different from the previous one and so on, but the patterns I see in so many lives is the same. The most common pattern I witness is one of fear. Fear of letting go, fear of moving forward, fear of being loved and giving love. These fears in actuality prevent a person from truly experiencing life and all the gifts it has to offer. Overwhelming fears (little and big) that often go unnoticed can easily create a loveless life. I want to share an example with you so that you can possibly step back from your life and take a long hard look to see if you are driven by the fear factor, or whether you are moved by the gift of love and light from our Creator. It is your god given right to experience love every day! The key is coming to a place of knowing you deserve unconditional love and once you have that realization and welcome it into your life without holding on to fear then you will know love in all ways.
During a session with *Barb* we were coming in contact with her mom that had passed many years before due to heart failure. Barb was NOT happy to hear from her mom (i got the sigh...like ugh does she really get to talk to me?), but she would not say why (which is a good thing) so I waited for her mom to explain. Through many validations and confirmations from Barb through her mom it was apparent that mom had a mental illness and wasn't capable of being a loving person. She had five children and only liked one of them. The rest of her children (including Barb) were emotionally neglected by her because she truly didn't have the emotional capability herself to love all of her children unconditionally as most mothers easily do with out batting an eyelash. Barb's mom was touching in, but not forceful and I could immediately feel her regrets in life. She was remorseful and apologetic. Barb was starting to soften to her mom's presence, but I could feel a wall of pain that needed to come down. Her mom told me to ask Barb flat out about her 2 failed marriages. "Barb have you been married and divorced twice"? Yes, she confirmed. These sorts of questions/validations went on for awhile and eventually it had come out that Barb led a very unhappy life for many years. She had become like her mom in many ways. She was practically unable to give love or receive love in any fashion. She was overweight and lonely. She had also developed various (serious) health issues and she was only in her 50's. She began crying and letting her emotions play out long enough to admit to herself and to me that she never ever felt loved by her mom, and that she didn't know how to truly be in a place to give/receive love. It might sound crazy, but this was a revelation to this woman! She had never connected the dots. She had thought all along that she made bad choices in life, and that she was doomed to be miserable. Why would she think any different according to her childhood? Needless to say she got caught up in a pattern of negativity which was caused by living a life guided in fear instead of love. Was her life changed through this conversation with mom? Yes. Was it all bandaged up and the wounds healed? No, but she was able to start LETTING GO of the anger and sadness related to mom and the relationship they shared. Immediately (as we kept in touch) she was able to seek help to start welcoming real LOVE into her world and releasing the FEARS that had nearly ruined her life. Today she has forgiven her mom and realized that she was raised by a sick person not an evil one. Barb is on the path to healing her life and that in itself is a miracle in my book.
Again I witness many people living a patterned life of unhappiness backed by fear. On the outside to so many they may seem normal. Maybe even married with children and a couple of house critters named Spot and Cocoa. They have mortgages, car payments, and make their trip the local grocery store once a week. ( or a few times like me ;)
Often they are afraid to face the past, release it and move forward simply out of fear of feeling pain. Even more so being afraid of what the future might hold will cause a person to lie dormant in a place of misery for years! Fears build walls. Big monstrous steel walls. There is ONLY one emotion which will bring down those suckers and it is LOVE. This isn't about soul mates and best friends. I am talking of self love. Getting to a place within where you can truly know yourself and love yourself. To know you only deserve the best possible life while you are here in physical form, because this right here...right now is what matters. The other side...heaven..the afterlife it is all cherries with whipped creme, sandy beaches with blue waters and Margarita fountains galore. (or whatever your lil heart desires)
Speaking of such things...what does your heart desire? *hint* It starts with an L, so go ahead and kick that F word right out of your life and get ready for those everyday miracles :)
Love and light,
Chantal

p.s. A great book to check out that will aid anyone in the process of self love is

I highly recommend it :)

Divine Order

There are times in our lives when everything seems to connect in a perfect divine order. I am a firm believer in synchronicity and how it works in our lives on a constant basis. I do not believe in coincidence. Nothing in my opinion is coincidental. In my work I am constantly aware of the gifts of divine order, and this week has been no exception. All week long I have been reminded just how connected we all are to one another and that divine timing is always at work. I had one client cancel so I immediately filled the open spot with someone from my waiting list. If client A. hadn't had "something" come up then client B. wouldn't have found out some pertinent health information that needed to be addressed as soon as possible. Life saving information given by her father (whom had walked through the pearly gates a long time ago). Her dad threw a harmless wrench in client A's day so that a life could be saved. (yes, there is networking in the heavenly realms) This whole ordeal was a definite form of divine intervention! Spirit is always working in our lives, but sadly many people chalk their blessings up to be luck. How many times do you hear someone saying that they were in the right place at the right time? This doesn't happen by chance, but by divine order. Your guides and angels always have your best interest at heart and are in constant work mode to support your destinies. Once you realize this truth and get into the "flow" of the universe your life can be so much easier. The reason being is if you have the belief that everything is happening in sync then you are able to truly let go and trust that everything will work out as it is supposed too. Hence removing anxiety from your life.
About a month ago a dear friend of mine passed into spirit. If you read "Kathy's Healing" in a previous blog entry of mine then you know who I am speaking of. Sadly for those of us that loved her dearly, she left the earth plane quite suddenly and the shock hasn't yet worn off.
Kathy is the one who taught me everything I know in regards to synchronicity a.k.a divine order. So it would only make sense that she was proving this even as she left us for the other side. The day before she crossed over we were talking about her health condition and I was quite concerned. My husband told her he would drive down to southern Illinois and pick her up to bring her here to live with us in Michigan. The only problem with this was we didn't have a home large enough to house her since we were/are living in a 750 sq. ft home. We told her that *tomorrow* we would go look at houses to buy/rent that would accommodate our family and her as well. So we got up early the next day and did just as we told her we would do. We found a house right away and called a realtor to check out the home. (mind you at this moment Kathy was in the hospital just hours from passing away, but we had no idea)
The realtor was "just walking out the door to go home" but would swing by and show us the house. It turns out that the house (which we didn't realize) is directly behind my in-laws home! We look at the house and we all LOVED it. It needed a little TLC, but overall it is the exact floor plan we've wanted for years. Needless to say after we left there we were unsure if we would be able to purchase the home due to some financial setbacks in the last 18 months. A few hours later we received a call from Kathy's sister informing us that Kathy had passed from a massive brain tumor. We rode the rollercoaster of shock and grief forgetting about the house for a week or so. Then it hit me. She had said something to me just one month prior. She was mad at God and blurted out "Spirit you need to get a house for these kids! They deserve a break and deserve their dream home"! My wheels started turning and I realized that we had been set up to see that home not because she was going to live with us (as her life contract is with God) but because it was finally our time!!! We called our bank and they laughed at us in regards to getting a mortgage. I almost quit, but pushed on. Needless to say we got a pre-approval in one day from a credit union near our home.(which left us in shock too) We placed an offer on the home...they countered.....we countered back, but then a cash offer came in that nearly knocked us out of the game! Through a divine hand (Kathy) we managed to get the house. I was amazed and knew in my heart and soul she was making dang sure that we would be living in that house in no time at all! It's almost as if she went into the heavenly light and said excuse me Arch Angel Gabriel, excuse me St. Peter I have work to do and will play later! We will be closing on our home in just a couple weeks. We will be honoring Kathy through a celebration of life once we are moved in. I will be planting a Rose of Sharon in her memory (as that was her favorite flowering bush) in our back yard so that every spring/summer I will be reminded of her unconditional love that she still displays endlessly.
Who is working in your life to guide you? Think about it....there are no coincidences.
Right now at his moment and every moment you are living in a world of perfect divine order.
Love and blessings,
Chantal

Signs

Even when I was a young girl I looked for signs from above. I can remember picking up a feather and wondering if it fell from an angels wing. I would often bring them home to share with my mom who would immediately force me back outside with my treasured feathers as they could be "carrying lice from a bird". Ha! I would roll my eyes and follow her direction, only to later sneak them in the house to hide in my dresser drawer! At the age of 11 I read the first few chapters of the Bible and was awestruck when I learned the significance of the rainbow. It was a promise that God made to Noah to never again flood the entire earth. So from that point on every time I seen a rainbow (which seemed frequent) I knew God was talking to me, not just Noah. To me it was a reminder of God's presence working in our lives. I was always looking for signs from beyond. I wasn't obsessed with the idea or anything, but I recall "wondering" if this or that was a sign from above.
We are all given signs and messages through out our lives from the spirit world. The key is to be open to this truth so that when the messages are given you are aware of their presence. These signs can come into your life intermittently or repeatedly. They come in all shapes and sizes. To say these communications of guidance or validation only come to believers is untrue. In fact sometimes the skeptics receive more simply to open their narrow mind.
What would constitute a message or sign being offered up? It depends. It is extremely common when a loved one passes away that their spirit will try to connect with you to validate that they are with you. Watching over you. Protecting you. Loving you.
Sometimes their need to confirm this to those left behind is dramatic and obvious. Other times it is subtle. I find that their personality is usually conveyed in the signs they give to us. For instance recently a dear friend of mine passed away quite suddenly and she (Kathy from "Kathy's Healing;in a previous blog) immediately assured me and others she loved that she was at peace and doing fine. Kathy always had trouble with her cell phone. She used to make fun of herself when it came to technology. Needless to say she has been messing with our phones over the last couple of weeks! I can clearly picture her getting some good laughs over her antics. As I have mentioned in previous postings...there is no limits or boundaries on the other side. So after Kathy passed my teen age daughter said that she prayed and told Kathy in her prayers that their "sign" with one another would either be movie tickets or nachos and cheese since they would visit the theater together and eat nachos together every time. I said to my daughter (not considering the no boundaries or limits to the spirit world) how will she ever give you a sign? I said pick something easier for Kathy to get through to you. My daughter rolled her eyes. The next day she comes home from school and informs me (with a huge smile on her face) that while the announcements were read at school that morning she received her sign. She explained that toward the end of the announcements the reader said" Oh and today's lunch schedule has changed from Hamburger on bun to Nachos with cheese". My daughter said she laughed out loud on and off all day long. Kathy let her know...hey kiddo...I heard you ;)
There are also signs and messages that will come at a time when we are at a crossroads in life especially when a big decision is in the works. Sometimes a symbol will arrive when we need validation or confirmation that all will be okay when we've been praying for guidance. I remember last year I was driving down the road praying for a sign that my husband would find a job. Out of nowhere a beautiful bald eagle soared over my van as I was driving over a bridge. I knew in my heart I was being told he would be offered a job soon. The next day he was hired! A non-believer would chalk this up to coincidence. Even those of religious faith would say this might mean nothing, and sorry to say but that sort of thinking is truly putting limits on the power of God and the gifts bestowed upon us in this life with that power. Look around you, keep your ears open. Sometimes a message can come across a billboard. It can arrive through a song on your radio or a commercial on your television. After my mom passed away I took some time off of work. The day I returned a client brought me one red rose (my mom loved roses) and the vase was wrapped in red and purple ribbons. Those 2 colors were my moms favorite. My client had no idea of this prior to her purchase. In fact she didn't even have the idea to purchase the flower until she came into town, got lost and came upon a little store called THE COOP. This store was also my mom's favorite store in town. I believe my mom led her astray and guided her to purchase the rose for me. It was sweet of my client to do this, but I know in my heart it was truly from my mother.
Pay close attention...your sign could come in a many of forms, but the more you validate them the more you will receive and trust me it will make this adventure of life a lot more exciting!

Validations

Just as the sitter (person receiving reading) during a private session has certain expectations during their one hour with me, I too have particular expectations as well. I expect that the energies/spirits touching in with me for the sitter will give lots of validation during the session. This lets the person receiving the communication (through me) from the other side to know it is valid. I want my client to KNOW they are hearing from whom ever is coming through. I don't want you walking away wondering...was that really my mom? I don't want someone thinking, well that sort of sounded like my dad, but I am not too sure. This doesn't mean that the occasional straggler that pops in for two minutes just long enough to throw out their name and disappear won't be less validating. The main family/friend connections that have passed away that you actually need to hear from (yes, they know who you NEED to hear from) will confirm their presence to you through me. How does this happen? It varies from reading to reading. Typically they will bring through names, dates of importance, (like birthday/death months) and how they passed from this life to the next. If it was an accident or natural death they will give up this information. Some spirits (as many of you know) can be very explicit about their deaths. These are great ways for them to confirm their presence. BUT my favorite are the random out of the ordinary validations that no one could possibly make up. For instance...
In one session I had a child coming through (she passed at the age of 5) and she was showing me frogs. Lots of frogs. Jumping frogs every which way! The mom who was having the session was so blown away that her daughter was bringing this up. Apparently her daughter was a frog fan in many big ways, and immediately after the child's funeral as people were leaving the church or cemetery lot there were hundreds of frogs blocking the road so no one could pass without taking notice of the frogs. (also not really a "froggy" area) This child was validating to mom that she had a little hand in that stunt on the day of her funeral. It turned out the incident did give a lot of the family members some sort of peace. Like she was letting them know she was okay! By bringing this up to her mom during the session (actually the beginning) this helped mom KNOW she was receiving communication from her child. I remember another time I had a woman that came to meet with me and right away her dad was coming through. He wanted her to know that he had been keeping an eye on her from day to day. She seemed pleased with hearing this news but not convinced so I asked him to show me some of the events or happenings in the last few days of her life. (she didn't know I was asking him)
I said he is showing me blueberry muffins. Her mouth dropped and she said...I just baked some this morning. She admitted that she doesn't even like to bake, but something had got into her. Come to think of it.....she shared that her dad LOVED blueberry muffins. He ate them often, and she would bake them for him because she loved her dad so much. Then he showed me tires. I was seeing this whole scene with tires being changed. Turns out, that the day before she made the long drive to come see me...she had new tires put on her vehicle. She now believed for sure that dad truly was around her in daily life. Sometimes the biggest and most important validations can come from the little things that they "validate" about our CURRENT life. This is how they prove that they can keep a watchful eye as they choose to still be part of our lives in some way.
Another way the spirit world will validate they are still part of our world is during a session they will bring up a name to their loved one of a living person, BUT they didn't know this individual while they were living. For instance if "Jenny" meets with me and her sister has been passed on for a few years, and she (spirit) brings up the name "Henry" and it turns out she didn't know him in her life, but "Jenny" is now engaged to be married to "Henry" she is letting her sister know that she well aware of her current circumstance. This is a wonderful way for them assure their loved ones of their presence.
Many of you have said...well she or he didn't that person. I always say...well they do now! The heavenly realms have no limitations or boundaries as we do. Their supply of information is limitless. Whether they choose to share that information is entirely up to them!
Until next time...

Chantal

The Spirit World

I was anonymously asked the following questions:
Anonymous said...Can you explain to us what our loved ones do in the spirit world, are they always with us? or at some point do they move on?
I will answer to the best of my personal knowledge as a spirit medium and share what I've learned about life "here" and "there" throughout my own journey. I will share with you what I can personally vouch for, meaning not what I've read in a book or any other outside source.
I don't believe that I know everything about the "other side" because every day I learn something new in regards to my work regarding the afterlife. If you can imagine someone saying that the earth plane and all the people living in its realms only did this, that and the other...there would always be room for argument. The possibilities here on earth are endless as they are in the heavenly realms. The main difference between our world and the next is that there are NO limits or boundaries in the spiritual realm for those that are passed on. The spirit world is not limited by time and space. Every thing is immediate. Moving from point A to point B is instantaneous where as we (in human form) need to get in a car, train, plane etc. to travel any real distance. Spirit has the best of both worlds. They can easily move through the door between the spiritual world and our earthly world. It's like a revolving door for them, but for us living in the flesh it isn't as easy. Of course as a medium it is easier, but I do not have full access to the spiritual realm. I can only experience what I am shown secondhand. Yes, I have knowledge of what goes on in the hereafter and even seen little glimpses, but again it is given to me via a spirit. It's not like I close my eyes and walk through the revolving door and hang out in heaven while I chat with loved ones. I wish!
So what do they do? Well they seem like they continue on living, but in a different form. For one thing they are without a body. Their now made up of strictly god energy or a light form. Keep in mind I am speaking about a spirit that has gone into the light verses a ghost that is still earth bound. That is a whole other story....
I recently had a session with a woman and her daughter was coming through (adult child) that had passed on after fighting a long illness. The daughter was insistent on showing me this whole scene with what looked like an animal day care. I explained this to the woman and she validated that her daughter was enamored with animals and constantly brought home strays through out her life. Apparently her daughter was now spending her time with animals in the spirit world. When you are alive your spirit is the life force of your soul. Another way of looking at is the spirit is what makes up our personality. When we die we don't lose our personality so it made complete sense to this woman that her daughter was still taking care of animals. My point is your heaven is whatever you want it to be, and you can change it whenever you want as well. There are NO limits. If you want a mansion, then you have one. If you want to hang out at the golf course all day then you do. If you want to be in the presence of Jesus then you are. It's a reality of your wildest dreams!
Besides having fun they also continue to grow and learn while on the other side. For instance if someone had a life where they couldn't trust others and was always slow to forgive then his or her guides in heaven will help that individual soul work through those issues. It seems that we never stop learning or growing. I've come in contact with thousands of spirits that validated to their living loved ones how they have progressed as a soul. Part of the reason is they can see things from a different aspect or light. Again having the best of both worlds is a benefit. Addressing the question of whether our crossed over loved ones are always with us is NO. They do have a life to live, but in another way and in another form. Although they do spend time touching in, guiding, protecting loved ones here. Some will spend more time than others. It truly depends on the situation. It depends on how or why the person died and it also matters who they left behind and the depth of grief their loved one is left with here on earth. I like to compare it to moving away from loved ones. If you and your family move to a new place without any family or friends near by you'll find yourself keeping long distance communication constant. You miss the people you left behind so much that you call, write, (nowadays text) and even try to visit frequently. But over time you make new friends and start a brand new life that doesn't allow for as much communication. This natural progression of change and personal growth means less time spent visiting with those you moved away from earlier. You still touch base and your connection never dies it simply changes. Death of a loved one works the same way. In the beginning they touch in all the time as they get used to being without a body. They also focus energy on helping loved ones left behind get through the grief and loss. As time goes on and healing takes place they will pull away little by little. This is good for the living and the spirit. One thing I know for sure when it is our time to physically die and pass from this world to the next, our loved ones are there to greet us with open arms to show us the way into the next life. Death is a rebirth back into our natural form of spirit!
Tomorrow I will touch on what happens to the spirit right after death occurs and whether that spirit moves into the light or chooses to stay in darkness...
Peace.
